Rachelle Ann leaves PH for 'Miss Saigon'

MANILA – Rachelle Ann Go has left the Philippines for London to prepare for her role as Gigi in the revival of the international hit musical "Miss Saigon," which opens in May.
In her personal Instagram account on Thursday, Go posted a picture of herself inside the plane.
“Bye Manila for now... See you after 14 months. I will miss everyone!!! New journey... Here we go!!! #TheSaigonDiaryofRachelle” she said in the photo’s accompanying caption.
In a recent interview, the former Kapamilya talent said she is both excited and nervous about performing in London's West End.
Go, 27, will rehearse for two months before “Miss Saigon” opens in May.
She admitted that she never thought of being cast as the hardened bar girl Gigi, originally played by Filipina actress Isay Alvarez, when she joined the Manila auditions for the musical last year.
“When I first received the e-mail informing me about my inclusion in the show and me being offered as Gigi, it was quite surreal,” she confessed. “I waited for like 10 months before the official announcement of the cast members was revealed."
Although doing musicals isn’t new to her anymore, it will be her first time to work abroad. “It will be a totally new experience for me,” she said.
Before Go left, she held a send-off concert which also marked her 10th year in show business.
